Rental Terms and Conditions

These terms and inclusions apply to all Ha'ena Beach Rentals:

Keys and Directions

Our normal procedure is to email directions prior to your arrival and to open the home the day of your arrival with keys located in the beach homes. Check-in time is 3:00 pm. Checkout time is 10:00 am.

Deposit

All homes require a deposit to be returned to Ha'ena Beach Rentals within 10 days upon receipt of contract to confirm reservation. Security Deposit required is 25% of the rental rate. The deposit, which is separate from the rent, will be refunded to you by mail approximately 4-8 weeks after you leave.  Deducted from the deposit will be: 1) additional cleaning and/or housekeeping charges over and above the standard cleaning charge of $250, 2) any charges for long distance phone calls, 3) replacement charge for lost keys, and 4) any charges for damage that is more than normal wear and tear.

Cancellations

With a 60-day written notice we will refund the full deposit, less a $100 processing fee.  If we receive less than 60 days’ written notice, the entire deposit will be forfeited.   If we receive less than 30 days’ written notice, the rent & excise tax will be forfeited unless the unit can be re-rented.

Rates

Rent is due 60 days before your arrival.  All rates are plus 4.166% general excise tax and 9.25% TA tax (7/1/10 and beyond). Please note that there is a three(3)- night minimum Ka Hale Po’o O Kaua’i  (2 wk min during Christmas holidays for all rentals). If you plan to stay longer than a week, the extra nights are prorated at the weekly rate.

Special Instructions for Prime Time Bookings

There is a two(2)-week minimum stay between December 15th and January 5th. Cancellation requires 90 days’ written notice. Rent is due 60 days before Christmas rental.

Special Instructions for Weddings, Receptions, Family Reunions, Parties, etc...

All weddings, receptions, large parties, and/or special events to be held at Ka Hale Po’o O Kaua’i must get prior approval of Haena Beach Rentals. Requirements include a three-day insurance policy, tent and port-a-potty rental.

Rules and Quirks

All rentals have a strict NO SMOKING policy.  Guests are asked to remove their shoes before entering the homes. This is both local custom and to protect the soft wood floors.
For stays longer than 7 days, a mid-clean is required at the cost of $150.00. Any additional cleaning may be requested for an additional fee.
